Why Free Classes?

Updated: Sep 6, 2025

The short answer is Yavapai County Health Services first brought free Tai Chi to the Verde Valley, we volunteered to teach those classes, and we think that's an idea worth preserving.

The longer answer...

We're retired and we're volunteers. Classes are held at free venues like libraries and churches. So why bother charging for classes?

But a free class must not be very good. Don't feel bad if that crossed your mind. My best advice: Come see for yourself. Try a few classes and you'll know soon enough.

And because it's free we have nothing to sell. So we can focus instead on teaching and we can say things like Tai Chi isn't for everyone, so try a few classes, come see for yourself. Because, well, Tai Chi is not for everyone, and because, well, the best way to find out really is to try a few classes. For free. And we think that's an idea worth preserving.
